How Rowhouse compares
Against the six paid grids a buyer is most likely to shortlist, plus the free and open-source options. Every comparison concedes something real: these are liked products, and the grievances in their reviews are about price and lock-in, not about bad software.
How to read these pages
Each product page describes one grid on its own terms: what it is, how it is built, what it publishes, and who it suits. Each Rowhouse-vs page puts Rowhouse beside one paid grid, starting with where that grid is the better choice. Each head-to-head page compares two paid grids fairly, for buyers choosing between them.
The capability tables are generated from the same research for every page, so a value never differs from one page to the next. Where Rowhouse is behind, the row is highlighted rather than left out.

Generated from each vendor’s own documentation and Rowhouse’s, never typed. Where Rowhouse is behind, its column says Coming soon or Roadmap.

Per-seat pricing climbs with every person you add
The license is the published list price. Implementation and administration are estimates, and no product is shown as costing nothing to run — Rowhouse included.

How Rowhouse compares: questions
Which grids are compared, and why these six?
Conga Grid, GridBuddy, Grid Mate, Mashmatrix Sheet, RavenApps Grids and AGrid. The first four are the paid grid-first products our research rates as the strongest competition; GridBuddy and AGrid are the ones a buyer has most likely already met, as an incumbent and as the lowest list price.
Were the competitors installed and tested?
No. Every competitor value comes from that vendor’s own documentation, listing, release notes and reviews, read on 6 and 7 October 2026 and fact-checked claim by claim. RavenApps’ terms bar competitor access and benchmarking, so its pages are documentary only.
Why does Rowhouse show a cost at all, if it is free?
Because somebody has to run any grid. The three-year model prices administration at $75 an hour for every product, Rowhouse included, so no product appears to cost nothing.
Three things you can verify without asking us
Nobody should pay per seat to edit a thousand rows.
Compare it on your own data: install it beside the grid you have, and keep both until you are sure.
