Open source, with no paid tier
Free. Not freemium, not a trial, not a tier. The source is Apache-2.0 and readable in the repository, and the rule that Rowhouse has no paid tier is one of its own hard rules, checked on every change.
The license
Rowhouse is licensed under Apache-2.0, with a NOTICE file: “Copyright 2026 Kugamon LLC”. Apache-2.0 lets you use, change and redistribute the code, and it carries an express patent grant. It contains no third-party code.
No paid tier, ever
No paid tier, no feature gates, no upsell in the product, and no funding or sponsor link. This is written into Rowhouse’s hard rules — the engineering rules every change is checked against — not only into the copy.
Trademarks
“Rowhouse” and the Rowhouse logo are trademarks of Kugamon LLC and are not covered by Apache-2.0. A fork is welcome; it needs another name.

Nothing hidden
Every part of a grid — the component, its configuration, the checks every request passes — is in the source you can read, under Apache-2.0.
Open source, with no paid tier: questions
Could Rowhouse add a paid tier later?
Rowhouse’s hard rules forbid a paid tier, feature gates and any upsell in the product. And because the source is Apache-2.0, anyone could fork the code under another name if that rule were ever broken.
Can I fork Rowhouse?
Yes, under the Apache-2.0 license. The license does not grant the trademark: a fork needs a different name and logo.
How do I report a security issue?
Privately: use GitHub’s Report a vulnerability on the repository, email support@kugamon.com with a subject starting [SECURITY], or submit a case at kugamon.com/support. Please do not open a public issue for a vulnerability.

Install it, assign the permission sets, build your first grid on the Grid Admin tab. Everything else is in the Grid Guide inside the app.
