Grid Mate
A productivity suite more than a grid: editing grids alongside kanban boards, calendars, Gantt, maps and a file explorer, all running inside your org and sold as one subscription with no tiers.
What it does well
- Editing depth. Paste from Excel, drag-to-fill, parent fields edited from a child grid, several record types in one grid with dependent picklists respected, and quick actions run in bulk over the whole filtered set.
- Breadth at one price. Grids, a pivot grid, Flow screen grids, kanban boards, calendars, Gantt, maps, a report table and a file explorer, marketed as 32 components with no tiers, add-ons or feature gates.
- Steady, dated shipping. Release notes run from May 2020 to August 2026, and the latest release, dated 25 August 2026, added a phone grid, a kanban board built as records and an Experience Cloud utility bar.
What it is
Grid Mate is the AppExchange name for GridMate, from GridPal LLC, a bootstrapped company headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina, with 17 people named on its team page. A first version was shared with the community in 2016 and the current paid listing dates from September 2019.
It is a suite. The grids come in several shapes — built from a related list, a list view, a field set, or as a User Grid an admin creates through a wizard — alongside a pivot grid, Flow screen grids, a grid for whatever your own Apex returns, a phone grid, kanban boards, calendars, Gantt, maps, a report table, an object timeline and a file explorer. GridPal markets it as 32 components; the listing’s Specs tab counts 176 global Lightning components, 27 of them in Lightning App Builder, and 31 custom objects.
How it is built
Everything runs inside your org. Components are placed through Lightning App Builder, and the query and the save are Apex and the Salesforce REST API in the same org. The core smart grids, the pivot and the Flow grids are Aura components; the newer visual components are Lightning Web Components; the package also ships Visualforce pages. The Related List and List View grids need the API Enabled permission, because they read layout and list-view metadata over the REST API. Quick-action support needs a separate unmanaged companion package, installed from a link in the listing.
Your configuration is in your org, inside the vendor’s package: 31 packaged custom objects, custom metadata and custom settings, plus JSON typed into component properties on each page. A wizard writes the JSON and a Config Checker validates it, and GridPal provides overflow properties because App Builder caps a property at 2,000 characters. User Grids are records, exported and imported between orgs as JSON through the Admin Cockpit or a Salesforce CLI plugin. Extending the grid with your own Apex means declaring those classes global in your org.
What it publishes about its limits
The smart grids’ required Row Limit defaults to 100, and GridPal’s reference says “the grid will never go beyond this number of records.” An admin can raise it; no maximum and no governor-limit guidance is published, though its marketing pages say a grid has no row limit. Export is capped at 50,000 records. The reference warns that the Related List Grid “may not function on Gov Cloud”.
There is no general undo of cell edits; Cancel discards everything unsaved, and since August 2026 a deleted row can be restored before the save. No accessibility statement, conformance report or keyboard documentation was found on GridPal’s site, its documentation or the listing. New users need a package license and a permission set assigned by hand, which GridPal’s FAQ describes as an ongoing step.
Price
$15 per user per month, list price, or $180 per user per year — the same rate either way. No minimum seat count is published, and there is a 14-day trial but no free tier. Nonprofits and certified Salesforce consulting partners get 50% off for up to ten licenses. Large seat counts, several orgs and Experience Cloud login licensing are priced by quote, with no figures published.
Common complaints
Its AppExchange reviews average 5.00 and there are no reviews of it elsewhere, so there is little criticism on record. What follows is what Grid Mate’s own documents and a partner’s review say to plan for. What we read: Grid Mate’s 133 AppExchange reviews, read on 7 October 2026. We found no reviews of it on G2, Capterra, TrustRadius or the other review sites we checked.

Setup steps the vendor documents
Every new user needs a package license and a permission set assigned by hand, two of the four grid types need the API Enabled permission, and quick actions need a separate unmanaged package installed from a link in the listing. All of it is in Grid Mate’s own FAQ and install guide.
Evidence Grid Mate’s own documentation; no customer complaint about it is on record.
-
A small community knowledge base
A partner’s otherwise positive review notes that there is not yet a large community knowledge base to search, and mentions finding a bug in one of the components.

Choose Grid Mate when
- You want Gantt, kanban, calendars, maps, pivot tables or file management in the same purchase as the grid.
- You need a grid inside a Flow screen, or files from S3, Box, Dropbox, Google Drive, SharePoint or ShareFile managed inside Salesforce.
- You buy for the US public sector through Carahsoft and want a vendor assessed by a third party against FedRAMP Moderate controls.

Grid Mate: questions
How much does Grid Mate cost?
The AppExchange listing publishes a list price of $15 per user per month, read on 7 October 2026, which GridPal’s FAQ also gives as $180 per user per year. Annual billing carries no discount, no minimum seat count is published, and nonprofits and certified consulting partners get 50% off for up to ten licenses.
Is Grid Mate built on Lightning Web Components?
Partly. GridPal’s own reference says “GM - RelatedList Grid is an Aura Component”, and the core grids carry Aura names, while newer components such as the kanban board, calendars, Gantt and file explorer are Lightning Web Components.
How many rows can Grid Mate show?
The smart grids have a required Row Limit property that defaults to 100 rows, fetched ten at a time; an admin can raise it and no maximum is documented. Export is capped at 50,000 records, and the User Grid has no Row Limit property.
Does Grid Mate keep my data in Salesforce?
Yes. The grids query and save through Apex and the REST API in your own org, configuration is stored in the package’s objects there, and GridPal states it has no access to your org by default. A few opt-in features, such as external file storage and map tiles, call outside services when an admin turns them on.
Three things you can verify without asking us
Nobody should pay per seat to edit a thousand rows.
Compare it on your own data: install it beside the grid you have, and keep both until you are sure.
